Blaze's Barn oil painting

Blaze’s Barn Oil Painting

I’m frankly tired of thinking about Hurricane Helene. The landscape has been altered. Rivers and streams have changed course, roads are still being repaired, and there’s trash everywhere.

And at some point, you have to quit thinking it will all change back.

You may still be running a chainsaw (we now have a new, much larger and more powerful—and insanely more expensive—chainsaw), piling branches up, or waiting for the county to begin clearing the massive piles of wet insulation and broken furniture heaped out by the road, but you can also get back to the things you love. The things that nurture and lift up.

So. Blaze’s barn! Which is just a bit up our road.

Here’s the photo I worked from:

And while his barn is much more gray in real life, I decided it should have rosy pinks and blues in my painting. Which seems to be a trend for me these days.

Here’s my finished painting:

I like that you put in some birds, and that it’s more hopeful than the photo.
