Blue-Eyed Grass, Dame’s Rocket, and Peak Mountain

Blue-eyed grass (Sisyrinchium angustifolium) seems to thrive along the sunny edges of our driveway. We’ve had much more of it this year, and I’m enjoying adding it to bouquets. It also makes a lovely bouquet all on its own.

I also found Dame’s Rocket (Hesperis matronalis) for the first time along the driveway this year; I only saw one sprig of it, although there may be more. It’s an easy flower to mistake for phlox. However, Dame’s Rocket has alternate leaves, while phlox has opposite leaves.

Finally, I snapped this photo of our mountain (highest point, center right) again; I see this view several times a week on my way home from town. I have in mind to paint it sometime soon.
