Daisies, Day Lilies, Marigolds, & Salamander

We don’t have much sun in our holler, so we don’t see very many daisies, but they’re pretty much everywhere else, so I brought home this handful recently from a girlfriend’s house.

I also caught the very first day lily of the year blooming on the mountain behind our house; soon there will be hundreds! (We’ll enjoy eating them, too.)

And would you look at these marigolds! I never think they’ll do well on our deck, but so far these are thriving, even without lots of sun. I’m thinking of painting them again.

more marigolds!
more marigolds!

And last but not least, another salamander. I never get tired of finding them.

  1. Daylilies and elderberries are in bloom here, along with chicory, daisies and butterfly weed. Oh, and wild roses. Such a beautiful mimonth, June.

I love seeing the pretty blue chicory blooms along the roadsides here when it begins to come in. And I have always loved butterfly weed (the orange one); in my family we call it “Maw’s Vacation Flower” because she would say it was time for a vacation when it started blooming.
