March Wild Salad

New spring wild greens are popping up everywhere, and it’s easy to get a bucket full for some lunch salads. Here’s what I came home with, starting in the top right corner of the photo below, then moving clockwise:

Tender young bishop’s weed (Aegopodium podagraria), chickweed (Stellaria media), ramps (Allium tricoccum), hairy bittercress (Cardamine hirsuta), purple deadnettle (Lamium purpureum), bluntleaved dock (Rumex obtusifolius), spring beauties (Claytonia virginica), and the only dandelion flower I’ve seen on the mountain so far.

Plus a pretty little edible bouquet for the table:
