Phacelia, deadnettle, buckeye bud & violet offering

Phacelia on the Rise, Solomon’s Seal, and Boy Growing Wild

The fringed phacelia is coming in quickly, and the bees and bugs are enjoying it already. Also arriving are the purple deadnettle, mint, and violets.

I was particularly happy to see young Solomon’s Seal uncurling in the woods; it’s my favorite trail nibble.

I also discovered this spiky little Euphydryas maturna, or fritillary caterpillar, ambling along in the woods by the trail.

And finally, look what was growing wild out in my son’s back yard. It’s a grand boy, thriving in his native habitat! (Being a Nana is the best.)
