Seams of Light & Consecrated

I’ve just finished two new pieces for my Breathing Room collection, and although they arrived by different paths, they seem to belong together.

Both are mixed media on handcrafted paper. Both suggest a horizon without insisting on a specific place. And both are really about light—how it settles, gathers, and transforms a landscape.

Seams of Light (8 × 8 inches, $96 in-person/show price) grew from deep mineral greens and cobalt blues that slowly found their balance beneath a broad band of bronze leaf. That bronze has become one of my favorite elements. It isn’t simply metallic; its brushed surface catches the light differently throughout the day, changing the painting as you move past it. Above it, warm creams and pale lemon tones open into a spacious sky.

Consecrated (12 × 12 inches, $216 in-person/show price): I never would have intentionally paired luminous turquoise with warm orange and soft rose, yet the colors seemed to insist on one another. A deep umber line hints at a tree line before the sky blooms upward in layers of warmth. The title came later, after I realized the painting reminded me of places that feel quietly set apart.
