This new painting grew out of Midnight Pass—almost like the next page in the same mysterious map. The skies here have bloomed to indigo, turquoise, and rose, and are filled with stars.

The size of this one means it really holds space nicely. I know larger artworks are more expensive, both in the time and materials sense, and in purchase price, but this one was deeply satisfying and I’m glad I did it.

This piece is 18×22, and is made with acrylic inks on Kilimanjaro watercolor paper. While I was working on it, I kept referring to it as my “star quilt”. Maybe I’ll make more of these? We’ll see.
