Swallowtail at Green Knob Oil Painting

I’ve been wanting to “undo” or deconstruct one of my paintings and I finally did it.

After the painting was all pretty and finished, I took my brushes and quickly took away all the detail and linework. I ended up just a touch muddier than I wanted, so I might go back and work some more to lighten and brighten colors…

But I probably won’t. I have more pieces I want to try!

This painting is 14″x18″ and it’s painted on one of my brand new, high-quality canvases.
